You want to know The best thing about grace....

There’s nothing you can do to earn it!

It’s freely yours! Stop being so hard on yourself, and remember grace is an essential ingredient to living a life of mental, emotional, and spiritual freedom, you just can’t live without it!

It’s like baking a cake.... you put all the ingredients in, you may sometimes skip a step or add your own little flavor, some of y’all done added whiskey in the cake and didn’t think no one would notice :). You have the exact directions, but you are trusted to create the masterpiece, you are the living vessel. So you pour it up, and mix it up, and put it in the pan, and place it in the oven.... the work is done.... from there you trust the oven to complete the task...

Imagine if you opened that dang oven every five minutes “just to check” you would ruin the cake.... or I remember as a child running around the house and jumping up and down while my mom was baking, and she would say aht aht get out my kitchen, before you mess up my cake. But being the hard headed children that we were, sometimes we would do it anyway. And boooyyy when she pulled that cake out the oven and it was messed up, we KNEW we should hide!

That’s how a lot of our lives look... we out here eatin flat cake... I mean it’s still edible, but the presentation for your Instagram post would’ve been a lot more easier on the eyes had we just let the oven do the work and sat down somewhere....

God does not need our help. The grace He has given us, is not contingent on how well we do what He’s called us to do. Just do it... take the first step, He’ll take the next five, and if you trip, or miss a few steps, reach out for His grace. Don’t worry it’s enough to go around, He’s got endless to go plates, and leftovers for the remainder of your days walking this earth... and the best part is when you make the cake your way and it comes out looking like dog food, when we humble ourselves, and submit ourselves to the authority of God, He can rewalk us through the steps again, and have us out here looking like master chefs, when we deserve to be looking like boo boo the fool. Grace is turning ashes into beauty!

Okay maybe I might be a little hungry... or with this quarantine all I can think about is food.... so lets try a different angle...

Grace is like returning a shirt that doesn’t fit, and not being able to get your money back, but at least you get the store credit towards something else... all hope is not lost!

Better yet, Grace is a daily celebration. It’s like celebrating your birthday once a year. Most of the time, people bring you free gifts, not because of anything you’ve done for them, but simply because you’re alive to receive it. Yeah, that’s the kind of gift God gives us daily.

The point is, once you’ve fallen short, give it all to God, leave it there, walk away with His grace, and don’t look back, or run back to make sure it’s safe there. Run freely in the direction of second chances, because grace is the thriving force that will move you forward.

Receive God’s grace, give yourself grace, and learn to be a gracious gift to others!
