In the end of blindfolded, I concluded with profound confidence in where my life was at that moment, and where I was hopeful it was heading.
“Sight is the fact that I am aware of myself now more than ever before. I am a better woman and a better mother because of this work. I am seizure free, with growing faith, and I will be the best wife for the man God has for me in the future because I am no longer content with bringing my broken puzzle pieces or someone else’s broken pieces, and expecting a masterpiece….. I’m a home owner, yall! (Okay, not quite, but saying it felt good. Owning my dream for my home feels good, too)”- Blindfolded 2021
Okay….. update!!!! I’m still a phenomenal woman! And killin mom life, if I must say so myself! Ive also been carrying a baby in my womb while teaching 24 second graders everyday… so yes I’ma hype myself up! I’m still seizure free!!!! Did you hear me?!!! I’m still seizure free! And my faith in God will always be my firm foundation!
After all the hell you went through I know you didn’t dare get remarried?… AND DID! Y’all this was the vision I declared for my life! And if I based all of this on the perception of others… I would be living under someone’s bridge broke, busted, and disgusted… but God!
Quick question:
What does the belief in your vision coming to life depend on?
Your mood from day to day?
Your current circumstances?
The amount of money in your bank account?
How far along your vision is coming?
Are you only hype when you see the seed sprouting? … Just wondering

Where do you stand with your vision for 2023? Matter of fact, how are you holding yourself accountable for the vision you stated at the end of 2021? Wait, do you have a vision?
Between covid, and the post pandemic world we are living in, if we have learned anything, it’s that nothing is certain. I’m sure in someway or another we’ve all lost loved ones over the past 3 years. We’ve lost jobs, we’ve lost hope, and maybe we lost our vision along the way.
So what will you declare in 2023, that will be for certain in your life?
Transparency moment: I am 7 months pregnant and unsure about how being a mother of two in this next season of my life will impact my career… I really don't envision being in a classroom full of kids everyday and coming home to my newborn… So I guess this is a "now what". moment....
I have the honor of meeting with a mentor who I respect deeply because she is so equipped to tell it straight. I don’t need nothing sugar coated at this point in my life.
Of the many things she has shared, she recently stated, know what you want…. Nothing less… And when you know that, go to God directly and tell Him exactly what you want… stop praying artificial prayers and be intentional with what you want… you want to be a stay at home mom.. fine.. tell him that.. you want to keep teaching… tell him that… but don’t go unsure, hoping and praying on maybes…
I was watching this video today where a man stated, “ if you really want to know the motive of your heart, put the word “so” in your prayers… God bless me so…. So what? God increase me so… so what?”

I want to challenge you today…. Before you write your vision and make it plain, can I impose on you the gift of impact? Let’s say your vision is to make a million dollars in the year 2023…okay great… but curious… what legacy are you leaving that for? Like if you die tomorrow, do you want to be buried in hundreds, twenty’s or tens?
Okay not money, let’s say your vision is a home…. How are you taking care of your home now? When someone has needed a place to stay, have you offered your couch?…. Have you ever thought about the reasons you’re not seeing your vision come to life? Did you ever stop to think that those reasons may not even be tangible reasons. Like your motive? Your heart?
Maybe you’re selfish but you frame it as” I just like being alone”. “I just like doing for me” When someone needed a ride? Or a car for that matter and you have two…. And you felt that nudge to do something way out of your norm…. What stopped you from blessing them?
Sometimes we look at how God is elevating other people’s lives while we’re stagnant. And the truth is, maybe they didn’t have the same resources as you… maybe they came from a neighborhood worse than yours… maybe they were considered the least appropriate for the position… even though on paper you were more qualified… but God simply trusted their motive… He’s blessing people He can trust…
If you gain the whole world, and lose your soul… what did you gain?
You know there’s a scripture that says, our gifts make room for us (Proverbs 18:16)… but I’d even take it a step further in this season and say your impact will make room for you? Your intentionality will make room for you… before you set your vision, pray that God will sharpen your perspective…
Life is too short to be setting the same goals through the same lens.
We’re pulling up on another 365.
Check your perspective not the timer.
